Beck Taxi has dedicated a significant amount of time and resources in developing our training workshop. As a result we are proud of our Independent Contracted drivers high level of professionalism. As a result we are proud of our Independent Contractors' professionalism.

Since 1994 more than 2400 of Beck's Independent Contractors have taken this valuable training workshop. Beck Taxi's workshop is a mandatory requirement for all our Independent Contractors to take prior to working for Beck Taxi. By far the most unique aspect of the Independent Contractor training is the sensitivity portion of the workshop. This training is part of the Ontario Government's Through Other Eyes workshop.

What's it all about?

Taking a good look at surroundings... at services... at products... at people, and through the use of restrictive devices, seeing these surroundings and services as they are viewed by visually impaired persons. Listening through layers of foam and learning about life in a world of whispered words and muffled music. And, experiencing mental and physical exhaustion felt by some other adults, physically or developmentally disabled persons - after they've spent a few hours in the community tugging at doors... shuffling on super-shine floors... stooping... reaching... peering at price tags.

Each Beck Taxi Independent Contractor is required to take these classes - better preparing them to compassionately service a diverse group of clients.
