Tributes

My association with Beck Taxi goes back about 11 1/2 years, when AT&T and Beck shared space in the "Rothman Building". I was new to Toronto, and, as AT&T was using Beck as a carrier of choice, I started using your services for my personal use. I never had a complaint, and still don't !

I am writing in order to bring to your attention the fact that I had a rewarding experience on Saturday: It was raining, and I had 4 bags of groceries to take to the "Food Bank", where I, along with 70 of my co-workers at "Lucent Technologies Canada Inc." were donating food and time. I phoned up, and asked for Mark (after so many years, I've even gotten to know the names of some of your staff !), and wondered if he could find a Independent Contractor willing to drive me there for free. He thought it a great idea, and put out the call.

Cab #1597 responded, and was pleased to offer his cab and time for such a worthy cause. When I told our Public Relations Officer the story, she was 'tickled pink' and is going to include it in her staff article.

Needless to say, Beck continues to be my taxi of choice! Thank you !

I would like to bring to your attention the very excellent work, kindness, and sincerity exhibited by your employee. One of my patients coming in from out of town lost his wallet in Mr. Youses' taxicab. On his own, he found where this patient was and returned the wallet intact. Mr. Youses' actions were extremely commendable.

I would like to congratulate you on the high calibre of your employees.

On December 10, 2003, one of your Independent Contractors (#479) license plate 479-APP - name: Negash, left a note on my car at Church and King. I very much appreciate the fact that he did leave a note. I am in the process of having the damage repaired and just wanted to thank you at this time, especially in an age where people often do hit vehicles and do not leave a note.

All the best of the season.

We were very pleased today to receive a telephone call from one of your passengers, to compliment you on your behaviour as a taxicab Independent Contractor.

This person told us that you were very friendly towards her and most obliging and polite.

May we add our congratulations to you, for so well representing the excellent taxicab Independent Contractors of Metropolitan Toronto.

A copy of this letter will be placed in your file.

I have been meaning to write you since January to commend your Independent Contractor Edward (Eddie) Lau, Cab 131 for his beyond-excellent service. He drives two blind siblings a long distance each day to Hollywood Public School. He is always on time, he provides friendly, comfortable competent service to these children, always ensuring they are delivered to their care givers appropriately.

The family and the school have come to depend on Eddie's excellent service and we appreciate the planning and communication between home and school that he provides.

Bravo Eddie!!

This morning I called a taxi to my home address of 4 Forest Laneway and I allowed a certain amount of time to go downstairs because I expected that the taxi would take some time to arrive. However, when I went downstairs your Independent Contractor was already in the office of my building trying to contact me because I was delayed.

I commented to your Independent Contractor that I had not expected that he would have arrived so quickly and his response came like a breath of fresh air. He said "At Beck, we try to give good service and our customers come first." He said it in such a way that I really believed he meant it.

He then proceeded to open the door for me and even brought to my attention that the belt of my coat was hanging out of the vehicle. He waited for me to adjust my belt and gently closed the door.

I could not let the day go by without commending this Independent Contractor to you and I would appreciate it very much if you would inform him of my comments. It was a pleasure to rid in his vehicle and I can assure you that whenever possible I will be choosing Beck over any other taxi companies.
